LPGA Reshuffles 2018 Priority List For Final Time This Season

The LPGA had its second and final reshuffle of its 2018 Priority List this week. While most of the players moved up or down a few insignificant spots, there were some very significant moves also.

The Priority List is what is used to fill the required amount of spots for any given tournament. Without me getting into the categories, which is potentially confusing, here is a brief explanation. Most full field events have a field of 144 players. Usually 140 of the players come from the Priority List ranking. Two players are Monday qualifiers, and 2 more are sponsor exemptions. So to keep it simple, if your Priority Rating is #150, you have to hope that 10 players decide not to play, or you are probably not getting into the field.

Annie Park made the biggest jump in this week's LPGA reshuffle

The following players made some of the biggest jumps in this week's reshuffle (and by getting into the top 100 become part of my weekly field rating):
Annie Park - 146 to 83
Sherman Saniwiwattanaphong - 139 to 96
Wichanee Meechai - 143 to 100
Although the jumps made by the above players look good on paper, it is not that significant as they were playing all full field events anyway.

The following player also jumped into the top 100, but this move was much more significant as she will now be playing every full field tournament.
Sakura Yokomine - 171 to 87

The following players made the most important gains, and should now be playing in most (if not all) full field events:
Haiji Kang - 140 to 104
Mina Harigae - 169 to 144

The following players are not guaranteed to play all full field events, but have a much better chance than before the reshuffle:
Sophie Popov - 174 to 154
Xi Yu Lin - 166 to 157
Min Lee - 367 to 159
Madeleine Shiels - 185 to 163

The following players took some of the biggest drops in this week's reshuffle (and by dropping out of the top 100 will not be part of my weekly field rating):
Kris Tamulis - 95 to 101
Erynne Lee - 99 to 108
Laetitia Beck - 98 to 136
Daniela Iacobelli - 100 to 145
Although these drops look bad on paper, it is not all that significant as these players will still get into all full field (144 players) tournaments.

The following players got hurt the most and will be seeing much less playing time, or no playing time at all:
P.K. Konkraphan - 113 to 146
Camilla Lennarth - 150 to 160
Vicky Hurst - 151 to 165
Maddie McCrary - 157 to 169
Natalie Gulbis - 158 to 170
Allison Emrey - 159 to 171
Katelyn Sepmoree - 161 to 174
